Welcome!
Hi, thank you so much for stopping by, I am delighted to meet you! I recently turned 55 years old and decided to start a blog. I'm not really an expert on anything but I am determined that the next forty five years of my life (yes, I plan to live to be a hundred) will be better than the past 55. This blog will document my journey to become the new and improved Tess. Not that I am unhappy with the self that I have now, I am actually very happy with everything that God has blessed my life with, but there's always room for improvement, right? I would love to be more self-disciplined, live healthier, and lose at least 40 pounds along the way.
This blog will also be my excuse to showcase my love for flower gardening. I do not have a green thumb but my passion for flowers ensures that I do not ever give up on my plants. This means that the task of planting, replacing dead plants, planting again, is never ending. I am slowly learning that the real trick is to look for plants that are super hardy and those that thrive no matter what. My garden gives me peace at the end of a long work day.
I developed hair-dye allergy in 2014, that explains the all-white hair at the (young) age of 55. Cleaning is my least favorite chore but I do like a clean house so I am always looking for cleaning hacks. Some days I feel that going minimalist is the way to go but the process of purging is so overwhelming. I hope that announcing my intentions to the world will make me more accountable and achieve success this time around. I am excited to share with you hacks, inspirations and lessons learned on this journey.
One of my biggest hopes for this blog is that my simple, ordinary life becomes a reminder to appreciate the simple everyday little things in life. Who says we have to wait for something earth-shattering to celebrate? There is so much to be thankful for, right here, right now.
I know that there are a gazillion other blogs on the internet. I am honored that you are spending a few minutes of your time with me. Please stay awhile and don’t be shy about sending emails or leaving your comments.
Thanks for reading!
